Description

Ryfora Beetroot Powder is a 100% natural powder made from whole, ripe beetroots that are washed, sliced, gently dried and finely milled. It keeps the earthy-sweet taste and deep red colour of fresh beets, and is naturally rich in dietary nitrates, folate, iron and antioxidants called betalains. One teaspoon gives you the goodness of beetroot without peeling, grating or juicing.

Benefits of beetroot powder

  • Natural source of dietary nitrates – popular with runners and gym-goers as a pre-workout drink.
  • Rich in folate and iron – supports everyday nutrition, especially in vegetarian diets.
  • Antioxidant betalains – the pigments that give beetroot its deep red colour.
  • Natural food colour – a chemical-free way to colour cakes, rotis, smoothies and frosting pink or red.
  • Natural glow for skin and lips – used in DIY face packs and lip tints.

How to use beetroot powder

  1. Beetroot drink: mix 1 teaspoon (3–5 g) in water, lemonade or orange juice.
  2. Smoothies: blend with banana, berries, curd or milk for a bright pink smoothie.
  3. Baking and cooking: add to cake batter, pancakes, pasta or roti dough as a natural colour.
  4. Face pack: mix 1 teaspoon with curd or honey, apply for 10–15 minutes and rinse. Patch test first.
  5. Lip tint: mix a pinch with coconut oil or ghee and apply.

Frequently asked questions

Is beetroot powder as good as fresh beetroot?

Beetroot powder keeps most of the nitrates, minerals and colour of fresh beetroot in a concentrated form, and it lasts much longer. It is a convenient way to eat beetroot regularly.

How much beetroot powder should I take a day?

1 to 2 teaspoons (3–10 g) a day is a common amount. For a pre-workout drink, take it 1–2 hours before exercise.

Can I use beetroot powder on my face?

Yes. Mix it with curd, honey or rose water for a face pack. Do a patch test first, as the colour can tint very fair skin for a short while.

Is it normal for urine to turn pink after eating beetroot?

Yes. This is called beeturia and is harmless. It is caused by the natural red pigments in beetroot.

Beetroot is naturally high in oxalates. If you have kidney stones or low blood pressure, speak to your doctor before regular use.
